The Heads of Cultural Exchange Organization of Presenting China to the World Attended the 2020 of Hainan International Tourism Island Carnival

    In the evening of the November 20th, 2020 (the 21st) Hainan International Tourism Island Carnival was held in Hainan International Exhibition Center. Shen Xiaoming, governor of Hainan Province, declared it’s opening. Zhang Xu, vice cultural and tourism minister, delivered a speech.

    Zhang Xu said that 2020 Hainan International Tourism Island Carnival was a specific measure to implement important strategies of CPC Central Committee and the State Council in a new situation. Events in the carnival would explore tourism resources in the Hainan Province; attract tourism consumption; support the building of an international tourism consumption center and add more “soft power” to the construction of a Hainan free trade port.

    This carnival was co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Hainan Province People’s Government. It’s also the starting year of the Hainan free trade port. The carnival is a large-scale tourism festival activity carried out when measures taken to fight the pandemic became regular moves. There were six theme tourism routes and five sections, including the opening ceremony and a series of main activities, activities in the main venue in Haikou City, activities in branches venues in cities and counties, all-for-one tourism activities for the theme month, all of which last to December 31st. During the event, in the main venue and five branch venues in Sanya, Danzhou, Qionghai, Wanning and Lingshui, visitors could see 17 main activities covering meetings and exhibitions, culture and art, sports and competition, sales promotion and other aspects. The aim of the carnival was to enrich cultural life and tourism experience and to improve tourism consumption.
