From December 19^th to 22^nd of 2020, ambassadors to China visited Shenzhen, accompanied by Wu Jianghao, assistant of foreign minister.

    Wang Weizhong, secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and deputy secretary of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, and Chen Rugui, mayor of Shenzhen, met ambassadors. Wang Weizhong said that Shenzhen used 40 years to accomplish what cost international metropolis hundreds of years, showing the world the achievement of the reform and opening-up. People in Shenzhun are brave, innovative and are always willing to take action which is why the city plays a leading role in national economical circle strategy and a "dual circulation" development pattern in which domestic economic cycle plays a leading role while international economic cycle remains its extension and supplement. Shenzhen is willing to exchange experience with other countries in terms of science and technology, industries, medical service, education as well as trade and economy. The city is also willing to stick to reform and opening up and contribute to construct a human community with a shared future under the structure of the “Belt and Road” Initiative.

    Wu Jianghao, assistant of the minister, said that the development of Shenzhen is an example and achievement of the reform and opening up in China. He hopes that this visit can help ambassadors to have a clearer idea about the achievement and experience of 40 years’ development in Shenzhen, so as to push forward the communication and cooperation between this city and other countries to realize common development.

    Ambassadors participated many activities. They visited the exhibition to celebrate the 40^th anniversary of the establishment of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone to learn China’s miracle of the last 40 years, during which a backward area has been transformed to an international metropolis. They went to the Lianhuashan Park to see the bronze statue of Deng Xiaoping (a great Chinese leader who planned for the reform and opening up, a policy supported the development of Shenzhen) and to admire the panorama of the city. They went to Dongguan songshan lake science and technology industrial park, Huawei’s largest research and development base in the world, to discuss the era of 5G. They went to Pingan Financial Center, the fourth highest building of the world, to gain more knowledge of the cloud platform of the smart city to have a clear picture of Shenzhen’s development speed and China’s achievement. They went for test drives of BYD’s new energy automobile to feel China’s green ecological development ideology and the responsibility of a big country to cope with global climate change. They went to Mawan Smart Port to experience the Internet of Things with smart connection, smart management and smart decision. They went to Baihua Child-friendly Block to experience people-centered city development ideology and “warmness” of this ecological friendly metropolis. They went to Mindray to know China’s contribution to the international cooperation to fight against the pandemic.

    Ambassadors spoke highly of the of Shenzhen’s development in terms of rate, height and friendly environment, believing it’s the result of generations of Chinese leaders’ far-sighted plans. The great achievement of the last 40 years since reform and opening up is a miracle created by Chinese leaded by the CPC. Shenzhen’s focus on the welfare of people is shown in it’s harmonious progress in economy, science and technology, innovation, environment, culture and humanities, representing Chinese government’s ideology to view people as it’s center. The city’s success can inspire other countries and offer opportunities for cooperation.
