From February 13^th to 14^th, at the invitation of the Foreign Ministry of China and the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, going to Zhangjiakou competition area for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games for an inspection are senior diplomats and ambassadors to China from more than 30 countries, including Russia, France, German, Italy, Norway, Switzerland, Netherlands, Austria, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia.

    Wang Yi, foreign minister of China and State Councilor, had a discussion and attended a reception with ambassadors. He said that Chinese government attaches great importance to the preparation of Beijing Winter Olympic Game which President Xi Jinping has guided and in which Thomas Bach, chairman of International Olympic Committee, has showed confidence. The Olympic Games will be hold in less than a year and preparation has been carried out orderly. China adheres to the ideas of greenness, sharing, openness and cleanness and works hand in hand with others to hold Beijing Olympic Games in a simple, safe and amazing way.    

    Wang Yi said that China will hold a successful 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games to make it worthy of the confidence of people in every country, expectation of athletes, hard work of volunteers and venue builders and wishes of people who love peace and admire the Olympic spirit. He believes that Beijing Winter Olympic Games will be a bridge to connect different civilizations and people, regardless of ideology, leading to a future to build a community for mankind with a shared future. Chinese people invite friends from all over the world to gather in Beijing and enjoy the amazing games with ice and snow in the next year. Beijing also invites delegations to participate. This will be a trip worth coming for athletes from all over the world.

    Xu Jianpei, vice governor of Hebei Province and vice chairman of the Beijing Organizing Committee, Xia Yanjun, vice governor of Hebei Province, participated and introduced the preparation. They said that they will adhere to XXi Jinping’s requirements they will welcome all guests and athletes with an open gesture and accomplish all tasks with high standards and of high quality, including organizational governance, the construction of venues and infrastructure, competition organization, venue management, service, guarantee and other arrangement.

    Ambassadors strictly followed all measures to prevent the pandemic. They went to Zhangjiakou by high-speed train to visit National Ski Jumping Centre which is also named as “Snow Ruyi”, National Biathlon Centre, National Cross-Country Centre, freestyle skiing area and other infrastructure in Winter Olympic village. Ambassadors extended their gratitude to China’s invitation; spoke highly of China’s excellent preparation for the Winter Olympic Games amid Covid-19 and gave beneficial suggestions. They look forward to another successful Olympic Games held by China and believe that Winter Beijing Olympic Games will be a milestone presenting human’s overcoming of the pandemic.
