On February 10th, Austrian Ambassador to China Friedrich Stift backed up China’s fight against the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) when interviewed by China Central Television. He spoke highly of Chinese medical workers for their selflessness, and hailed great efforts Chinese government has made in fighting against the contagion. He said Austria and China pursue a shared future, which was expressed in a letter of Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen to President Xi Jinping. Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz also sent messages to Premier Li Keqiang, expressing that Austria is willing to support China in the prevention and control of the contagion.
It is said that an array of masks and protective goods are on the way to China from Austria.
