On January 16th, the 4th New Year Dialogue between Diplomats and Business Leaders 2020 took place in Beijing. More than 100 foreign diplomatic envoys to China and business representatives from over 50 countries and regions, and more than 400 representatives of Chinese private entrepreneurs were in attendance.
The event, under the theme of “Create Value and Share Prosperity, One Spirit and One Journey”, aims to push forward the “Belt and Road” Initiative and build a platform for investment and cooperation, allowing all countries and regions to seek for new opportunities in business investment and technological innovation, and to advance coordinated development and common prosperity of the global economy.
Jiang Ming, chairman of the China General Chamber of Commerce, said in his speech that the world economy is confronted with many uncertainties. The Chinese domestic consumer product market maintained the steadily advancing momentum. The consumption accounts for more than 60% in the economic growth as the first engine for the steady development and prosperity of economy. Ever since 2017, China General Chamber of Commerce has been hosting the New Year Dialogue annually to enhance the communications and exchanges between foreign diplomats and private entrepreneurs as well as elevate the global trade circulation Under the conditions of progressive opening-up of Chinese domestic market to the rest of the world, the China General Chamber of Commerce is willing to join hands with all commerce chambers and organizations to forge ahead and strive for the vision for development shared by all.
This dialogue has provided a targeted and effective platform for exchanges and cooperation among countries involved in the Belt and Road, foreign embassies and consulates in China, chambers of commerce, industrial parks and enterprises. Foreign embassies, consulates and business institutions from Uruguay, Belgium, Georgia, Moldova, Japan, Philippe, Burkina Faso and Ethiopia have introduced their national resources and projects. It is said that 7 projects have been signed between China and foreign countries at the scene.
