On the morning of December 16th, Luo Shugang, minister of Culture and Tourism, met with Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, Laos minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, as well as his delegation, who came to China to attend the the closing ceremony of the “China-Laos Tourism Year 2019”. Both sides exchanged views on further enhancing cultural and tourism cooperation between China and Lao and reached a broad consensus.
Luo Shugang expressed that the “China-Lao Tourism Year” will conclude. With close collaboration, both sides have hosted various projects throughout the whole year, such as tourism promotions, forums, talent training, cultural and art performances. It is hoped to further boost cooperation and implement the action plan in cultural and tourism cooperation by virtue of “China-Laos Tourism Year”, thus supporting the construction of China-Lao community with a shared destiny.
Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune said that the goal of one million Chinese tourists visiting Lao is expected to be achieved within this year through the year of culture and tourism. The Laos side will continue to improve tourism environment and services and more Chinese tourists are welcomed to visit Lao. Meanwhile, the Lao side also appreciated the support of the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and is willing to work jointly with the Chinese side to conduct practical cooperation in culture and tourism as good neighbors, friends, comrades and partners for ever.
