On December 3rd, 2019, a group of ambassadors and charge d’affairs to China from 27 African countries paid a visit to Chongqing. Chen Min’er, Party secretary of Chongqing, and Tang Liangzhi, mayor of Chongqing, met with the group and communicated with them.

The African envoys attach great importance to this tour and congratulated on the significant achievements that Chongqing has made since the founding of New China. They believed that this visit enables them to have a better understanding of China’s path and concepts of development. They are willing to work jointly with the Chinese side to implement the results of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), and deepen win-win cooperation between China and Africa. Meanwhile, it is also expected to see new progress in Chongqing-Africa cooperation.
