On November 1st, the 12th Cross-Straits (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair, which was jointly held by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Radio and Television Administration and the Fujian Provincial People’s Government,. kicked off in Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center. During the fair, the officials and guests including Long Mingbiao, deputy director of the State Council’s Taiwan Affairs Office, Zhnag Xu, vice minister of Culture and Tourism, Zhen Jianmin, vice governor of Fujian Provincial People’s Government, and Chen Liheng, chairman of Asia-Pacific Cultural Creative Industry Association of Taiwan, toured the exhibition.
The 12th session’s exhibition covers an area of 75,000 square meters with more than 3,512 standard booths in total, 898 of which are Taiwan booths. At the same time, 39 supporting events, such as forums, matchmaking meetings, promotions, and 141 special activities in 28 paralleled sessions were held at the fair.
The Cross-Straits (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair set up 12 exhibition zones according to “famous provincial and municipal enterprises, crafts and arts, creative design, digital film and cultural creative tourism”. Besides, Ningbo and Taichung made their first debut as “guest of honor”. It also built exhibition zones for the integration of culture and tourism drawing upon the concept of cultural and tourism integration, and offered three selected events, namely cultural lecture, capital of culture and tourism, oriental life aesthetics.
Moreover, there are other efficient events including matchmaking meetings for fine project exchanges, special promotions of cultural and tourism investment and financing cooperation, as well as meetings for cross-strait talents engaged in culture and creative industries.
Meanwhile, the event joined hands with the districts of Siming, Huli, Jimei, Haicang, Tongan and Xiangan in Xiamen to stress the role of public cultural services through 28 paralleled sessions covering cultural industry parks, scenic spots and important cultural and tourism companies.
