On October 14th, the Hainan International Tourism Island Promotional Event took place in Lisbon, capital city of Portugal. During the promotion, a tourism promo video of Hainan was released to introduce its tourism forms including Li and Miao ethnic culture, ocean sports and forest health care.
Wang Lu, vice governor of Hainan province, said in his speech that Hainan is a famous tourism resort for vocation with rich tourism resources. Currently, Hainan is striving for the largest free trade port in China and international tourism island in the world. Portuguese tourists are welcomed  to visit Hainan where they can sample local conditions and customs, as well as food culture. As both sides feature abundant ocean tourism resources, Hannai is willing to conduct cooperation with Portugal in ocean tourism so as to make contributions to exchanges and cooperation in culture and tourism.
Nuno Madeira, head of Chinese Market Department at the National Tourism Administration of Portugal, noted that the tourism is pillar industry of Portugal. In recent years, Chinese tourists bound for Portugal have seen a great increase. In the first quarter of seasons this year, the number of Chinese tourists hits new high with a growth rate of 18% compared to last year. He hoped that China could enter into the top ten list of foreign travelers in Portugal, realizing the goal of 400 thousand Chinese tourists. 
During the promotion, both sides signed Portugal-Hainan tourism ally agreement and agreement for medical cooperation. 
The promotion was held by Hainan Provincial Tourism, Culture, Broadcasting and Sports Department. More than 100 representatives of Portuguese political and tourism personages and overseas Chinese were present.
