On August 19th, 2019, at the invitation of Uruguayan Ambassador to China Fernando Lugris, Zheng Zeguang, vice minister of Foreign Affairs, and Cui Jianghong, secretary general of Cultural Exchange Organization of Presenting China to the World, attended the opening ceremony of “Uruguay Week” and national day reception of Uruguay.
The attendees include Guillermo Moncecchi, Uruguay's Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining, Wu Hongliang, deputy head of the department of foreign capital and overseas investment at the NDRC (National Development and Reform Commission), the top agency responsible for regulating enterprises’ outbound investments, and Antonio Carámbula, president of Uruguay XXI, the country's investment, export and image promotion agency. They will took the Belt and Road Initiative as a good opportunity to promote win-win cooperation in trade and investment, scientific innovation, people-to-people and cultural exchanges and tourism, thus ensuring the China-Uruguay strategic partnership yield new results.
