On August 8th, the “Night of Chinese Culture and Tourism” gala was held in Ulaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia.
The event, co-organized by the Chinese Embassy in Mongolia, the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Mongolian Ministry of Environment and Tourism and the Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports, attracted officials from both sides and nearly 500 audience.
“This year is of great significance as it marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China as well as the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mongolia. A series of celebrations will be held jointly by both sides to nurture favorable atmosphere.” Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia Xing Haiming said at the opening ceremony of the event.
“China and Mongolia has a long history of friendship.” said Xing. The tie between two countries is seeing a rapid development since 2014. Meanwhile, the two sides have been stepping up their efforts to enhance exchanges and cooperation in politics, economy, science and technology, and culture with fruitful achievements. Besides, the cooperation in culture and tourism is also booming at present.
“The event in Mongolia demonstrated the deepening cooperation in culture and tourism between two sides,” said Yondon Otgonbayar, vice-minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports of Mongolia, adding that Mongolia will also send its delegation to China to conduct cultural and tourism exchanges in the future.
During the gala, the audience were visually impressed with the wonderful “Kungfu show” by a group of kungfu masters from the China's Henan province. Taking Kungfu’s origin and development as major vein, the show incorporates Chan Fist (a kind of Taichi), weapons, internal breathing exercises (neigong) and techniques of Kungfu through the integration of the essence of Chinese culture.
