Zhang Xu meets with Iranian Ambassador to China

On July 26th, Zhang Xu, vice minister of culture and tourism, met with Mohammad Keshavarz, Iranian Ambassador to China. The two sides shared views on bilateral exchanges and cooperation on culture and tourism.

Zhang Xu spoke highly of current China-Iran cooperation on culture and tourism. He said, within the cultural cooperation agreement framework between Chinese and Iranian governments, the two sides have carried out fruitful cooperation that strengthens the bilateral relations and people-to-people bond between China and Iran. The Chinese side also appreciated the visa-free policy for Chinese tourists, believing the policy could further promote bilateral cooperation on tourism.
“Iran boasts a long history, rich culture, and abundant tourism resources like China,” said Keshavarz. “We will step up more efforts in facilitating Chinese tourists and guaranteeing their safety in Iran. Meanwhile, we are willing to enhance exchanges and cooperation on culture and tourism with China through mutual visits of art troupes, exchanges between cultural and art institutes, and tourism promotions.” he added. 
Xie Jinying, director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Bureau under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, was also present at the meeting.
