Chongqing: An exhibition on Qijiang farmer woodblock prints and Nanchuan landscape is unveiled in New Zealand

On July 10th, the Chongqing Qijinag Farmer Woodblock Print Exhibition and Nanchuan World Natural Heritage Scenery Photo Exhibition, as a major cultural projects of the China and New Zealand Tourism Year 2019, was unveiled at Auckland Art Gallery in New Zealand.

Tan Jialing, vice chairwoman of Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, introduced Chongqing's plan to make the city a cultural and tourist destination by virtue of its rich tourism resources and unique cultural landscapes. She also invited New Zealand friends to sample Chongqing’s rich cultural deposits and unique natural scenery as well as share development opportunities of world tourism.
Deputy Consul-General of China in Auckland Xiao Yewen acknowledged this exhibition as an important platform to promote  tourism development and bilateral cultural exchanges between China and New Zealand, and Chongqing and Auckland.
Yang Jian, New Zealand's national MP, said he hoped more New Zealanders could visit China with Chongqing full of great potential being highly recommended. “The mutual visits will bring more interaction and opportunities.” he added.  
New Zealand's artist Sylvia Williams said that the woodblock prints showcased Chinese people's talent and kindness through their brilliant colors and profound Chinese cultural connotations as well as unique way of expression. 
It is said that the exhibition featured with over 60 paintings by farmers from Chongqing's Qijiang County and more than 30 photos of Nanchuan World Natural Heritage Scenery.
