On June 14th, Minister Luo Shugang of Culture and Tourism met with Raul Pérez Torres, minister of Culture and Heritage of Ecuador, in Beijing.
Luo Shugang spoke positively of cultural relations between China and Ecuador. He noted that leaders of two countries have paid mutual visits in 2016 and 2018, which promotes bilateral ties and cooperation in culture and tourism. Though a long distance from each other, two countries have been maintaining close exchanges with frequent mutual visits of cultural institutions and art groups. As this year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Ecuador, China is willing to work hand in hand with Ecuador to further expand bilateral cooperation and promote the deep integration of cultural and tourism cooperation so as to continuously consolidate the foundation of comprehensive strategic partnership.
Pérez extended great thanks to Minister Luo Shugang for his attention to cultural relations between China and Ecuador. He also expressed that the exchanges and mutual learning of civilizations are one of important part of building a community of common destiny for all mankind. Ecuador is willing to further advance bilateral cooperation in culture and enhance mutual understanding between two peoples under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Both sides have reached extensive consensus on various proposals including signing execution plan for cultural exchanges between two countries, holding the cultural celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, promoting mutual visits and exchanges of cultural institutions and art groups, supporting personnel training and conducting museum cooperation.
