Our Party must get a new look and make new accomplishments in new era. When reviewing the past year since the 19th National Congress of the CPC, the whole Party and the people of all ethnic groups in China guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in new era and led by the Central Committee with comrade Xi Jinping as a core to overcome all difficulties. We will follow the great goal made by the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party and write a new chapter of reform and opening up.
The times sets the exam, the Party takes the exam, and the people review the exam. Over the past year, economic development maintains a steady and prudent development; deepening reform in all areas is deeply advanced; poverty alleviation is increasingly intensified; people’s sense of fulfillment, happiness, and security is seen strong; the strict Party self-governance is developed and new prospect of major country’s diplomacy with Chinese characteristics is created. In the context of changing and complex world, all these achievements are attained with the great efforts of the Central Committee and 1.3 billion Chinese people. Reviewing this extraordinary year and looking forward to a new journey, we have full confidence in our great goal and socialist course with Chinese characteristics.
Great course should be guided by scientific theories. Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in new era is the soul of the 19th National Congress Report, which is the newest achievement of Marxism. Over the past year, from enterprises and factories to communities and government departments, from urban to rural places, the Party’s creative theories guided the practise of reform and development, and injected great momentum into all courses. To achieve the great goal set in the 19th National Congress of the CPC, we should use Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as its guide to action and uphold the authority of the Central Committee and its centralized, unified leadership. We should also ensure that the thought and action conform to policy and decisions made by the CPC Central Committee and great efforts should be made in aligning themselves with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, guiding practice and advancing work so as to obtain effects in implementation and action.
Deepening reform will address the question raised by course development. Since the 19th National Congress of the CPC, the ship of reform embarks on its journey again. A set of measures have been rolled out, including institutional reform of the Party and government, Xiongan New Area construction, rural vitalization strategy, reform of free-trade zone, free-trade port construction with Chinese characteristics. In the historic juncture of the fortieth anniversary of reform and opening up, we will demonstrate our firm determinations of reform and opening-up in new era with actions. Just as there are no bounds to our course, there is no end to reform. Reform and opening up is the key to carry through the spirit of the 19th National Congress and realize great goal of nation. We should have both ideas and concrete actions. What’s more, We must have the determination to get rid of all outdated convictions, ideas and institutional ailments, thus inspiring vitality of economic and social development. It is also providing great motivation for securing a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and embarking on a journey to fully build a modern socialist China.
The Party holds the key to Chinese course. It is the political password and fundamental guarantee for the time mission to build a stronger Party. Party self-governance is a journey to which there is no end. Since last year, the Party construction has been strengthened and new achievements have been made in self-governance through deepening reform of the national supervision system and revising CPC Regulations on Disciplinary Actions. We also committed efforts to political construction and anti-corruption. We should stick to strict self-governance in all rounds and continue to clear all virus that erodes the health of the Party, thus building a healthy political ecology and creating mighty force that promotes China’s development and advancement with the positive energy of the whole Party.
We should hold high the banner and live up to people’s trust. Our goal is so great and realistic that ensures a better life for all Chinese people. The original aspiration and the mission of Chinese Communists are to seek happiness for Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation. We should adhere to people-centred approach and regard people’s pursuit for a better life as a goal in order to gather all energy from Chinese people and turn blueprint of the 19th National Congress into reality with consistently glorious achievements in a new era.
