On March 6th, Zhang Xu, vice minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, met with Indian Ambassador to China Vikram Misri. They exchanged views on further enhancing communications and cooperation in culture and tourism.

Zhang Xu noted, in recent years, the rapid development of cultural and tourism exchanges has played an increasingly important role in promoting bilateral relations between China and India. Last year, the successful holding of China-India high-level mechanism for cultural and people-to-people exchanges has provided two sides with new platform for exchanges and cooperation in culture and tourism. China is willing to join hands with India to implement the future schemes of the mechanism, thus making new progress in cultural and tourism cooperation.
Vikram Misri said, there is a huge potential for two sides to cooperate in culture and tourism as China and India are all ancient countries with a long history. India is willing to strengthen communications with China so as to push forward the exchanges and cooperation in culture and tourism.
