On May 23rd, the 2024 Summit Forum on Building a Strong Cultural Nation was held in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. Li Shulei, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of the Central Propaganda Department, attended and delivered a keynote speech. Huang Kunming, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee, attended and delivered a speech.

Participants believe that Xi Jinping's cultural thought is the theoretical summary of the practical experience of cultural construction in the new era, is the centralized embodiment of the cultural subjectivity and cultural self-confidence of the Chinese nation, and provides a powerful ideological weapon and scientific guide to action for doing a good job of propaganda, ideology and culture in the new era and new journey. The propaganda, ideology and culture front should enhance the sense of responsibility and mission, hold high the cultural flag of the Communist Party of China in the new era, take up the new cultural mission, and promote the new era of cultural construction to create a new situation.

Participants said that in-depth study and implementation of Xi Jinping's cultural thought and promotion of the construction of a strong cultural country should enhance cultural self-confidence, set up cultural aspirations, develop and grow mainstream values, mainstream public opinion and mainstream culture, and launch more cultural achievements that integrate the past and the present, penetrate into the East and the West, and brighten up the annals of history. We should promote cultural innovation and prosperity, strengthen the protection and inheritance of cultural heritage, accelerate the digital empowerment of culture, deepen the reform of cultural institutions and mechanisms, and stimulate the momentum and vitality of cultural innovation and creation. We should deepen civilization exchanges and mutual understanding, implement global civilization initiatives, and better build civilization consensus.

The theme of this year's forum is “Chinese Modernization and New Cultural Mission”, sponsored by the Central Propaganda Department. The central propaganda and cultural units, the propaganda departments of the Party committees of provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, some cultural enterprises and institutions, and experts and scholars from relevant think tanks attended the forum.
