On December 15th, the 5th Meeting of the Cultural Cooperation Branch Committee of China-Ukraine Governmental Cooperation Committee was held online. It’s jointly hosted by Zhang Xu, chairman on Chinese side and vice minister of culture and information, as well as the chairman on Ukraine side who was also the vice minister of culture and information policy.
Both sides reviewed two countries’ communication and cooperation of cultural art, tourism, broadcast, movie, literature, publishing, document and so on since the 4th meeting, as well as exchanged ideas on works of the next step.
Zhang Xu said that Ukraine was China’s strategic partner and an important country to work with in the construction of the “Belt and Road”. People in these two countries had been developing people-to-people communication and promoting practical cooperation. China was willing to work with Ukraine hand in hand to expand and deepen win-win collaboration in cultural sector to realize high-quality development by lunching various communication, promoting online and offline integrated development and planing for China-Ukraine communication and cooperation in the cultural field, so as to contribute to the development of the relationship.
Ukraine vice minister of culture and information agreed with China’s suggestion to deepen cooperation and acknowledged the importance of the mechanism of branch committee to promote cultural communication and cooperation. She advised that both parties should explore cooperation potential, expand new cooperation channel and start a new chapter of cultural cooperation, so as to inject new driving force into the relationship.
After the meeting, both officials signed the minutes of meeting.
