From March 18^th to 22^nd of 2021, the second group of ambassadors in China are invited to inspect venues in Zhangjiakou, Yanqing and Beijing at the invitation of Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. More than 180 people come including ambassadors in China from international organizations and 77 countries of Thailand, Singapore, Algeria, Chad, Cape Verde, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Malta, Australia, Bahamas and other nations as well as representatives in China of international organizations and senior diplomats. Three competition areas are all inspected. Accompanying the visitors are Wu Hailong, the chairman of China Public Diplomatic Association, Wu Hongbo, special representative of the Chinese government on European affairs and Han Zirong, the secretary and the full time vice president of the Organizing Committee.

    During a talk with ambassadors, Wu Hailong says that holding a successful Olympic Winter Game is a solemn promise made by Chinese government to the world. Olympic Winter Games in Beijing can greatly promote the development of winter sports in China, common-prosperity and green development. He also hopes ambassadors can make China’s determination and action of holding Olympic Games known by the world. Wu also says that Chinese government and people will get together and work hand in hand with other countries as well as follow the order of the president Xi Jinping to hold a “simple, safe and amazing” Olympic Games so as to present a sporting event with no regard to ideologies, links different civilizations and connects to people of different countries from the bottom of their heart. Han Zirong, the full time vice president of the Organizing Committee, says that when preparing the Winter Olympic Games, China make the most use of the venues of the 2008 Olympic Games; use renewable energy, presents Chinese cultural features and pay attention to cultural inheritance. The government will offer China’s wisdom, China’s plan and China’s strength.

    Ambassadors speak highly of Chinese government for it has finished the construction of venues and infrastructure effectively despite the influence of the pandemic, as well as have praised principles followed by China in the arrangement. The principles are greenness and environment-friendly, coordinated development of sports and livelihood, scientific and technological innovation and so on. They also agree that China has set the pace for the preparation of the Olympic Winter Games. Ambassadors says that this trip lets them have a better understanding of China’s preparation which is green, opening and scientific as well as of the ability, confidence and resolution of holding the Olympic Winter Games. They also wish that 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games will be a unified, successful and amazing sporting events.
