On April 8^th, 9^th and 13^th of 2021, at the invitation of Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the third group of ambassadors in China inspect venues in Zhangjiakou, Yanqing and Beijing for Beijing Olympic Winter Game. Participators are ambassadors and foreign diplomats from 3 international organizations and 41 countries, including South Africa, Argentina,  Switzerland, Albania, Oman and Sao Tome and Principe. Chinese officials accompanying them are Li Hui, the special representative of the Chinese government on Asian and European affairs, in Beijing, and Cheng Guoping, commissioner from the department of external security affairs, Xia Yanjun, the deputy provincial governor of Hebei Province, and He Jianghai, the vice executive secretary of Beijing Organizing Committee, in Zhangjiakou.

    In Zhangjiakou, ambassadors arrive in Winter Olympic Village, National Winter biathlon Center, National Ski Jumping Center and other venues. The Cheng Guoping, the commissioner, delivers a speech during lunch, expressing greeting to ambassadors. He also says that holding successful Olympic Winter Game and Winter Paralympic Games is a solemn promise made by Chinese government and people to the international society. We have been sticking to green development in the location-choosing and construction for venues. Olympic Winter Game indeed brings welfare to people. Two examples are the completed construction of Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway and the poverty alleviation in Chongli District with the help of winter sports industry. Xia Yanjun, the the deputy provincial governor of Hebei Province, says that ambassadors in China play an important role in a successful Olympic Winter Game and hopes that countries can work together. He Jianghai, the vice executive secretary of Beijing Organizing Committee, introduces the preparation process and says that China and other countries will work together to overcome difficulties and hold a successful game on time. Ambassadors also watch and do Weixian County paper-cutting to experience the charm of traditional Chinese culture and national intangible cultural heritage.

    In the competition area of Yanqing and Beijing, ambassadors inspect National Alpine Skiing Centre, National Sliding Centre, Wukesong Sports Centre, National Speed Skating Oval, National Stadium, National Aquatics Centre, Capital Indoor Stadium, Big Air Shougang and other venues. They also experience Curling by themselves. Li Hui is a special delegate. During his communication with ambassadors, he says holding Winter Olympic Game against the background of the pandemic is a solemn promise made by China to the international society. It’s a great meaningful event for China and the whole world. He hopes that ambassadors can tell the whole world about China’s determination and action to carry out it’s promise and China’s thoughts on the holding of Olympic Games.
    Ambassadors praise the preparation progress for the Olympic Games and government’s effort to development economy with the help of the Olympic Winter Game and to reuse the venue after the Olympic. They are impressed about the perfect combination of Olympic Games and ideas of green and low-carbon, technological innovation and traditional Chinese culture. Ambassadors are confident and eager to see that China can hold a “simple, safe and amazing” Olympic Games. During the visit, ambassadors show the willingness to cooperate with China to create favorable conditions for competitors to have high scores.
    Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games and Ministry of Foreign Affairs have invited 3 groups of ambassadors in China in the first half of this year. Till now, more then 300 ambassadors in 123 embassies and 11 international organizations in China have visited the venues for Olympic Winter Games.
