The Hunan Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference with the theme of "Three and four Rivers, Meeting Hunan" was held in London, UK on April 3. The event aims to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Hunan and the UK in the field of cultural tourism, and showcase Hunan's unique cultural charm and rich tourism resources.

The promotion will be kicked off in the Changde silk String performance "Meet Hunan", which has very local characteristics of Hunan. Ouyang Bin, Inspector of Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, presided over the meeting and extended a warm welcome to the guests.

Mao Weiming, governor of Hunan Province, said in his speech that Hunan has a long history and culture and beautiful scenery. In recent years, Hunan has continuously strengthened international cultural and tourism cooperation, and welcomes more British tourists to Hunan to experience the unique Hunan culture.

Zheng Zeguang, Chinese ambassador to the UK, said in his speech that Hunan is committed to building a national important advanced manufacturing highland and a scientific and technological innovation highland with core competitiveness, and the development of Hunan is a microcosm of China's high-quality development. We welcome all sectors of the UK to actively strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with Hunan in economy, trade, science and technology, education, culture, tourism and other aspects. Direct flights have been launched between Changsha and London, and the 240-hour visa-free transit policy has been applied to Changsha and Zhangjiajie ports. The Chinese Embassy in the UK will also provide maximum convenience for British people to apply for visas to China. I hope people from all walks of life in China and the UK will take the visit of the Hunan delegation to the UK as an opportunity to work together for the benefit of the two peoples and promote the sound and stable development of China-UK relations.

Rachel Fayington, Director of tourism affairs of the British National Tourism Office, also said in his speech that Hunan's rich tourism resources are very attractive to British tourists, and he hopes to promote in-depth cooperation between the two sides in the field of cultural tourism through this promotion.

In the sharing session, Kathleen Davies, Director of the West of England Tourist Board, shared her experience on her trip to Hunan last year and discussed the possibility of cooperation between the West of England and Hunan in cultural and tourism aspects. In addition, Ben Hardy, chairman of Bristol Hot Air Balloon Festival, also shared his experience in cooperation with Hunan, and expressed hope that there will be more opportunities to promote bilateral cooperation in the future.

At the end of the meeting, an interactive question-and-answer session was set up, and the participants had in-depth exchanges. At the same time, a special Hunan culture exhibition platform was set up on the scene, with 50 scenic photos showing the humanistic and natural scenery of Hunan. Many intangible cultural heritage inheritors came to the scene, bringing Xiangtan shadow puppet show, exquisite Hunan embroidery products, Zhangjiajie handmade cultural creations and "Clay figure Liu" tea set, so that everyone can feel Hunan's profound cultural heritage and unique charm.
