Jiangxi: Tourism Promotion Held in Thailand

On December 18th, China Jiangxi Cultural Tourism (Thailand) Promotion Conference, jointly held by China-ASEAN Center and Jiangxi provincial government, took place in Bangkok. At the conference, travel agencies from both sides signed up the agreement of sending visitors. 

During the conference, Wu Zhongqiong, vice governor of Jiangxi province, introduced Jiangxi’s history, pottery, religion, academies and Chinese medicine culture to representatives of Thailand-China friendship organizations and guests from culture and tourism departments. More people are encouraged to engage in inspection, travel and investment in Jiangxi. 

“In recent years, close cooperation between Jiangxi and Thailand has seen in economy and trade, culture and tourism as the “Belt and Road” initiative has been deeply implemented.”said Yang Xin, minister counsellor of Chinese embassy to Thailand, suggesting that ASEAN countries, including Thailand, are hot spots for Jiangxi people to travel abroad. He hoped that the practical cooperation between two sides will be promoted to a new level. 

Korn Dabbaransi, former vice premier of Thailand and president of Thailand-China Friendship Association, noted that Jiangxi is a prioritized place to conduct study tours and Chinese medical care tours in that it is characterized by splendid history and culture, affluent ecological resources as well as beautiful natural landscapes. 

It is stated that the number of tourists from Thailand to China is on the increase annually. In 2017, the Thai tourists to China hit more than 700 thousand while Jiangxi province received more than 24 thousand Thai tourists, up 19.16% from the previous year.
