Chinese Culture in Cambodia

On March 16, the eighth "River Festival" of Cambodia opened in Siem Reap, and the Chinese Ambassador in Cambodia Wang Wentian was invited to attend the series of activities of the eighth River Festival of Cambodia. Minister of Tourism Sok Sokheng and Counselor Lin Ruihua attended the event.

Wang Wentian accompanied Cambodian Prime Minister Hong Manet to visit the 2024 "China-Cambodia Year of Humanistic Exchanges" Cultural Exhibition, which was jointly organized by China and Cambodia. Hong Manet watched the photo exhibition on the theme of China-Cambodia Humanistic Exchanges with great interest, and appreciated the performance of guzheng and tea art as well as the exhibits of Chinese special handicrafts, and Wang Wentian also presented the "Auspicious Dragon", the "Happy Spring Festival" character of 2024, to the Prime Minister at the exhibition. During the event, Mr. Hong Manet issued a warm invitation to Chinese tourists, welcoming more Chinese friends to visit Cambodia and jointly promoting the friendship between Cambodia and China.

After the visit, Wang Wentian and his wife attended the opening ceremony of the 8th River Water Festival in Cambodia and watched the cultural performance.

In the morning, Mr. and Mrs. Wang Wentian and Sosokeng attended the boat cruise ceremony and tasted special snacks together at the Chinese food booth. Visitors from various countries also lined up in front of the booth, and they all praised Chinese food such as brown sugar patties, boiled chicken, and rice noodles over the bridge.

In order to further promote tourism development, the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia has organized the River Festival in the river cities of Cambodia since 2015. The theme of this year's River Festival is "Peace and Development" and it will last for three days (March 15th to 17th).
