On September 9th, the “Charming Yellow River, Beautiful Inner Mongolia” Tourism and Culture Week kicked off at the China Cultural Center, Paris, allowing French people to experience the magnificent scenery, unique culture and long history of Inner Mongolia.
According to reports, the event was jointly organized by the China Cultural Center, Paris, Center of International Cultural Exchanges, and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and was presented through digital photography exhibition, Inner Mongolian intangible cultural heritage and creative products exhibition, Inner Mongolia music promotion and experience, tourism and food video exhibition. All these exhibitions empower local French people to enjoy the great beauty of Inner Mongolia, explore the treasure on the plateau, and taste the delicious food in Inner Mongolia.
Mathieu Lecocq, a French musician living in Paris, showed the audiences how to perform Mongolian musical instruments such as Khoomei, Matouqin (horse-head fiddle) and Topshur. He talked about his cooperation and exchanges with Chinese folk musicians over the years, and shared his stories of meeting Mongolian musicians and learning from them.
On digital screens in the gallery of the modern building of the China Cultural Center in Paris, visitors can also appreciate photography that reflects Inner Mongolia’s magnificent natural scenery, unique cultural landscape and colorful ethnic customs.
Liu Hongge, director of the China Cultural Center, Paris, said that the Tourism and Cultural Week are expected to enhance the French people’s comprehensive understanding of Inner Mongolia culture, attract more people to visit Inner Mongolia, and welcome French tourists to search for the unique national culture and natural heritage in Inner Mongolia.
