The award ceremony of “Love Fu Bao” Collection of Works, co-sponsored by China Cultural Center Seoul, China Tourism Office in Seoul and Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, was held at China Cultural Center in Seoul on August 25. Attendants include Mr. Xing Haiming, Chinese Ambassador to Korea, Mr. Jung Byeong-seok, Vice President of Samsung CFC, Mr. Jung Dong-hee, Director of Zootopia in Everland Resort, Mr. Kang Cheol-won, keeper of panda Fu Bao, Mr. Kim Young-taek, Head of Advertising Department of Joongangilbo, Mr. Park Jung-Cheol, President of the Korea-China Artists’ Sports Association, Mr. Wang Junlin, President of icnkr.com, winners as well as their family and friends and also nearly 100 Korean people.
On the event day, some excellent paintings and photography were displayed in the hall of the first floor of the China Cultural Center, Seoul, and a person wearing a cute panda costume took photos with the guests. Fans of Fu Bao in South Korea came to the scene.
Xing said in his speech that panda is a national treasure and a cultural symbol of China, which is deeply loved and concerned by people around the world. In the past few years, the pandas in the Everland have brought happiness to the people of China and South Korea, and the lovely Fu Bao grew up loved by the young people of China and South Korea. It has witnessed the friendship between the two peoples, and was another achievement since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and South Korea 31 years ago. It is believed that “Fu Bao” and its family, as ambassadors and fruits of friendship between China and South Korea, will grow in love together with many Chinese and South Korean fans and make new contributions to long-standing China-South Korea friendship.
Jung said the giant panda is a symbol of friendship and cultural exchanges between China and South Korea, bringing a lot of happiness to the people of the two countries. Fu Bao is the first baby of Le Bao and Ai Bao, two giant pandas on loan from China, and recently has a pair of twin sisters. “Fu Bao” is very popular in South Korea, with tens of thousands of fans and is expected to serve as a tie of friendly exchanges between the two countries.
The “Love Fu Bao” Collection of Works lasted for half a month, received contributions from panda fans all over the country, and finally selected 3 grand prizes, 6 excellent awards and 6 encouragement awards through expert review and public voting. At the award ceremony, Ambassador Xing Haiming, Vice President Mr. Jung Byeong-seok and other guests presented certificates to the winners and took photos with them.
After the award ceremony, Dr. Jiang Zheyuan, the “giant panda Grandpa” of the Everland, delivered a wonderful speech for the audience. Through vivid cases and personal experiences, he shared with the audience the breeding and protection work of giant panda Fu Bao, introduced the fun of getting along with the animals, and called on everyone to pay attention to the protection of giant pandas and make joint efforts to create a better living environment for them.
With the theme of “Protecting Giant Pandas with Love”, this “Love Fu Bao” cultural creativity collection consists of three sections: “Love Fu Bao Painting Contest”, “Love Fu Bao Photography Contest” and “Love Fu Bao Propaganda Song Contest”. The winning works and some outstanding works will be exhibited on the media platform of the China Cultural Center in Seoul.
