On the evening of January 21st, “Happy Spring Festival Gala” performance took place in Kigali, capital of Rwanda. More than 1,000 attendees were overwhelmed by the wonderful ethnic performance by Inner Mongolia Art Troupe.
Group dance presenting Inner Mongolian people’s passion for life unveils the performance. The wonderful performances, such as Morin khuur instruments(also known as the horse head fiddle, is a traditional Mongolian bowed stringed instrument), Khoomei(a type of Tuvan throat singing) and acrobatics, won waves of applause and cheers from the audience. Artists of both sides were singing Rwandan songs and the National Ballet artists entertained audience with Rwandan dance.
Esperance Nyirasafari, minister of Rwandan Ministry of Sports and Culture, thanked the Inner Mongolia Art Troupe who traveled from far away, to share with the Rwandans the richness and uniqueness of their culture through performances. The Rwandan side will strongly support and commend all efforts and initiatives made in regards to enhance the bilateral cultural ties.
Rao Hongwei, Chinese ambassador to Rwanda, said cultural exchanges are one of best ways to improve cultural diversity, spur artistic creation and strengthen mutual understanding.
It is the fourth year that “Happy Spring Festival” performance was held in Rwanda. This performance was jointly held by Chinese Ministry of culture, Chinese Embassy to Rwanda and Rwandan Ministry of Culture and Sports.
