On September 30th, 2021, Chen Bo, Chinese ambassador to Serbia, and Maja Gojkovi, Serbian vice prime minister and minister of culture and information, signed “2021-2024 Cultural Cooperation Plan for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia” in the of Serbia government building.
Chen Bo said that cultural exchanges had been an important part of China-Serbia strategic partnership in all aspects. People of our countries were interested in each others’ culture and in recent years, there had been abundant result of our cultural cooperation. Events like “happy Spring Festival” and Chinese lantern exhibition were all liked by people of Serbia. Due to the pandemic, there had been less face-to-face communication, but our people was closer by online concert, photo exhibition and so on. Cultural cooperation plan would contribute to the expansion of China-Serbia cultural cooperation. There was huge potential for the cultural cooperation between our two countries. He believed there’s a huge prospect for the bilateral cultural communication with bilateral relationship, the “Belt and Road” initiative and China-Middle East Europe cooperative framework.
Maja Gojkovi gave a high comment of the bilateral relationship. Facing the serious challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, China and Serbia had been launching various cultural events online, so as to achieve continuous development of cultural exchange and cooperation. She believed that the cultural cooperation plan would improve the quality of our cultural exchange and cooperation, support communication and mutual-learning among cultural institutes and enhance cooperation in terms of opera art, music, cultural heritage protection, cultural innovative industries and so on.
