On October 22, 2021, the organizing committee of Cultural Exchange Organization of Presenting China to the World was invited by the Liuha District Party Committee of Nanjing Sub-provincial City to visit Liuhe District.
Liuhe, known as Tongyi in ancient times, was a strategic location on the border between Wu and Shu regions during the Three Kingdoms period. In the Ming Dynasty, it was known as "the barrier of the capital, the channel between Hebei and Shandong provinces, the military fortress, and the great town north of the Yangtze River". It is located in the north of Nanjing City, on the opposite side of the Yangtze River from the center of Nanjing City, bordering Yizheng City on the east, Pukou District on the south, Laian County of Anhui Province on the west, and Changtian City of Anhui Province on the north. It is the primary production region of Yuhua Stone, known as "a heaven-sent treasure and one of China's best offerings", and the place of origin of the famous Jiangsu folk song "Jasmine Flower"; it is the face of Nanjing, the "Capital of Six Dynasties" north of the Yangtze River, and an important part of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, a state-level new area.
Liuhe District enjoys an excellent ecological environment and is a national ecological zone, with a national geopark and six provincial and municipal forest parks. It is home to the Zhimaling-Daquan Lake Scenic Area of Zhuzhen, which is the air quality control region of Jiangsu Province, and Jinniu Lake, the largest man-made lake in Nanjing City and the venue for the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Sailing Competition.
Liuhe District is conveniently located in terms of transportation; it is known as the "Transportation City North of Yangtze River", hosting Nanjing Ma'an International Airport, in addition to 42 kilometers of Yangtze River coastline, G205 and G308 national highways, a series of expressways, high-speed railways, subway lines, and oil and gas pipelines, covering all five modes of transportation: water, air, land, rail, and pipe.
Liuhe District has a solid industrial base and is at the forefront of modern agricultural development in Nanjing. It hosts six provincial and municipal modern agricultural parks, enjoys a strong industrial infrastructure, and is an important base for the manufacturing industry in Nanjing. In addition to Nanjing Chemical Industry Park, the district also hosts several advanced manufacturing enterprises such as Guoxuan Battery, Jiankang New Energy Automotive, Newpwr Manufacturing, and Nanjing Orientleader Technology.
