On March 14, the 2023 "This is Putian" Culture and Tourism Promotion Conference was held in Beijing, providing a comprehensive introduction to the culture and tourism resources of Putian Prefecture Level City, the culture and tourism theme of "Refreshing Summer in Putian - Enjoy the Coastal City", the culture and tourism theme of "Meizhou Island National Tourism Resort", and the key culture and tourism investment projects in Putian City.

This promotional conference was hosted by the Party Committee of Putian Prefecture Level City and the People's Government of Putian Prefecture Level City and organized by the Bureau of Culture and Tourism of Putian Prefecture Level City. The promotion conference was attended by more than 150 people, including Mr. Zhu Zhengyang, member of the Leading Party Member Group of the People's Government of Putian Prefecture Level City and Vice Governor of Putian Prefecture Level City, leaders of the Bureau of Culture and Tourism of Putian Prefecture Level City, leaders of relevant counties (districts and management committees) in Putian City, representatives of famous culture and tourism enterprises and travel agencies in Beijing, and representatives of media organizations in Beijing.

Mr. Zhu Zhengyang, member of the Leading Party Members Group of the People's Government of Putian Prefecture Level City and Vice Governor of Putian Prefecture Level City, delivered a speech at the promotional conference.

He said Putian is a famous cultural tourism city whose value has been seriously overlooked; it is the hometown of Mazu, the World Mazu Cultural Center; it is a city with a thousand-year history in theater and literary records, and a land of arts and crafts, with profound historical and cultural heritage. Putian sees the perfect integration of "mountains, water, forests, fields, lakes, grassland, sand, and sea", with first-class natural ecological resources such as the Mulan River, first-class coastal tourism resources such as Meizhou Island, and first-class idyllic urban tourism resources, ideal for traveling in all seasons, well integrated into the urban landscape. Putian's local customs allow visitors to enjoy pleasant sights, songs, and food. As the new starting point of integrated culture and tourism development, Putian will take the construction of "Meizhou Island, Green Heart Park, and Mulan River" and other scenic areas as a channel to create an internationally renowned first-class culture and tourism city; To create a diversified tourism landscape with Meizhou Island and Nanri Island as the center by linking the Mulan River and coastal tourism; To promote the deep integration of Putian's three key pillar industries - footwear and garment, handicrafts, and food processing - with culture and tourism, and to create a city with a strong culture and tourism industry. After the "Spring in Putian" campaign, Putian City plans to launch the "Refreshing Summer in Putian - Enjoy the Coastal City" tourism campaign during the May Day holiday, and then build tourism brands such as "Enjoy Autumn Views in Putian" and "Joyful Winter in Putian", to build a year-round popular resort with "four seasons of green, four seasons of flowers, and four seasons of change".

Ms. Liu Jingjie, Party Secretary and Chief Director of the Bureau of Culture and Tourism of Putian Prefecture Level City, introduced the culture and tourism investment projects in Putian and the rich cultural heritage and tourism resources of the city, focusing on the promotion of cultural tourism brands and key cultural tourism projects in Putian, and warmly invited people from all walks of life to visit the hometown of Mazu, as well as cultural tourism entrepreneurs and talents to invest in Putian and seek common development.    

During the event, the guests present also enjoyed an intangible cultural heritage incense performance, watched the promotional video "Refreshing Summer in Putian - Enjoy the Coastal City", and the national intangible cultural heritage performance of Putian traditional opera "Big and Happy".

At the promotional conference, Putian Culture and Tourism Bureau signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Trip.com Group, establishing partnerships in areas such as cultural tourism brand building, new model development in the hotel industry and big data application. The People’s Government of Xianyou County signed a project investment agreement with Beijing Zhongjingxin Culture and Tourism Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. to launch cooperation and investment projects in Jichuan Village, Xianyou County and surrounding areas.

The Putian Tourism Association signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Beijing Tour Guide Association, initiating cooperation in areas such as the training of tour guides in the two regions, the transfer of tourism resources and project cooperation.

In the next stage, Putian City will take the 2023 "This is Putian" Culture and Tourism Promotion Conference as an opportunity to comprehensively promote Putian cultural characteristics, make efforts to promote the popularity of the "Holy Land of Mazu - Beautiful Putian" cultural tourism brand, strengthen north-south cultural tourism exchanges, increase the inflow of tourists from the northern tourism market centered around Beijing to Putian, promote the vacation, sightseeing, leisure and investment economy in Putian, while actively promoting the high-quality development of Putian's culture and tourism industry, and support the development of Putian's culture and tourism economy.
