On February 24, "World Tourism Alliance——Xianghu Dialogue" opened in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Hu Heping, Minister of Culture and Tourism, Yi Lianhong, Secretary of Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), and Zhang Xu, President of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA), attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches, while Reyes Maroto Illera, Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism of Spain, delivered a video message.

Hu Heping said that the WTA has continued to develop and grow with the strong support and cooperation of all parties, and has become an important international organization with 228 members from 42 countries and regions. The Chinese government attaches great importance to the development of tourism as an important bridge for spreading civilization, exchanging culture and enhancing friendship, and as an important way to satisfy people's spiritual and cultural needs and enhance their spiritual strength, adhering to the principle that tourism is for the people and for the benefit of the people, and actively promoting the in-depth integration and development of culture and tourism by means of mass tourism, intelligent tourism, green tourism and civilized tourism. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China is willing to work with international organizations in the field of tourism, tourism departments and industries of various countries to improve bilateral and multilateral mechanisms for tourism exchanges and cooperation, and to carry out exchanges and cooperation in policy synergy, conceptual innovation, service upgrading and talent cultivation in an all-rounded, multi-level and wide-ranging manner, so as to jointly promote the revival and revitalization of the tourism industry, as well as its prosperous development.

Over the years, Zhejiang in-depth implemented the "eight-eight strategy", adhered to the innovation-driven, project-driven, ecological priority, quality first, tourism for the people, tourism for the people, and cultural tourism, continue to brighten up the golden business card of tourism in Zhejiang. Zhejiang will work with the members of the alliance, and continue to expand the circle of friends of tourism exchanges, injecting new momentum for tourism development, to create a good example of tourism cooperation, so that the "poetry" and "faraway places" can condense consensus and wisdom. 

Zurab Pololikashvili said that the UNWTO and the WTA have always maintained a friendly and cooperative relationship, and have witnessed the Xianghu Dialogue grow into an internationally influential event in the field of tourism. China's relaunch of outbound group tours has released positive signals and injected vitality into the recovery of the global tourism industry, which will strongly contribute to the development of the global economy. The UNWTO will further deepen its cooperation with the Government of China and other member States and affiliated members to jointly promote the development of global tourism.

Under the theme of "Harmonious Coexistence——Shaping the Future Ecology of Tourism", the Dialogue will focus on "Coordination and Cooperation——Promoting the Revitalization and Prosperity of the Tourism Industry" "Innovative Development——Exploring Future Trends of Tourism" "Inclusive Development——Contributing to High-Quality Development of Tourism" "Harmonious Sharing——Optimizing Destination Policies and Governance". More than 300 government officials and envoys from 31 countries and regions, as well as representatives of international organizations, tourism and travel-related enterprises, tourism cities, associations and academics attended the event.
