On September 26, Li Qun, vice minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, attended the "Uzbekistan Night" organized by the China Silk Museum and the Foundation for the Development of Art and Culture of Uzbekistan in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, and met with the assistant of the president of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, who was present at the event.

Li Qun pointed out in his speech that over the 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Uzbekistan, bilateral relations have been constantly moving to a new level, and exchanges and cooperation in the fields of culture, cultural relics and tourism have always been an important part of the relations between the two countries. The ancient city of Khiva, which was restored by the cooperation of cultural relics conservationists from China and Uzbekistan, has brought back the luster of this pearl on the Silk Road. Li Qun said that the series of activities such as the "Uzbekistan Night" and the "Belt and Road" cultural relics and archaeology cooperation exhibition have injected new impetus into the cultural and tourism exchanges and cooperation between China and Uzbekistan. The "Uzbekistan Night" vividly demonstrated the unique dress culture of Uzbekistan in its social and cultural context through traditional folk dances, music and dance, and handmade weaving of Ika crafts, reflecting the exchanges, influences and fusion of dress cultures between the two peoples through the Silk Road.

Saida Mirziyoyeva said that both China and Uzbekistan have a history of more than 3,000 years along the Silk Road. Along the ancient Silk Road, China and the ancient Sultanate region developed cultural ties that enriched each other and promoted economic prosperity. The exhibition and activities provide an important opportunity to showcase the cultural heritage shared by China and Uzbekistan.
