On March 27, Minister of Culture and Tourism Sun Yeli met with Saudi Minister of Culture Badr bin Abdullah Al-Saud, who visited China, in Beijing. Both sides spoke highly of the cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia in recent years and exchanged views on issues of common concern.
After the meeting, the two sides signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, marking that the two countries will further strengthen the construction of cooperation mechanisms in the field of culture, injecting humanistic impetus into the construction of a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. In the future, China and Saudi Arabia will focus on cooperation in key areas such as museums, cultural heritage, performing arts, and digitization of cultural resources, support the mutual organization of cultural festivals, encourage cooperation between private cultural institutions, and exchange experiences on relevant cultural policies and regulations.
