General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward in the report of the 20th Party Congress that promoting cultural self-confidence and self-reliance and opening up to the outside world at a high level is an inevitable requirement to enhance the spreading power and influence of Chinese civilization, to prosper and develop cultural undertakings and industries, to forge a new splendor of socialist culture, to build a strong socialist cultural nation, to promote Chinese culture to go out into the world, to enhance the soft power of the national culture, and to build up China's international discourse, so as to realize the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Under the theme of "Beautiful China", the Cultural Exchange Organization of Presenting China to the World has accumulated a wealth of international resources in the successive years of Sino-foreign cultural exchanges: it has formed good cooperative service relationships with embassies of various countries in China, national business associations in China and national cultural and tourism organizations in China; and cooperates in depth with more than a hundred media organizations and authoritative media in China, so as to provide all-around support for the cause of Chinese-foreign humanistic exchanges and economic and trade cooperation.
Since the activity was launched in 2011, the Cultural Exchange Organization of Presenting China to the World has organized the envoys of various countries in China to enter nearly 200 cities, such as Arshan City, Longnan City, Shangri-La City, Suzhou City, Rugao City, Qixia City, Songyuan City, Nantong City, Yantai City, Hetian City and so on, and has built a pragmatic and internationally influential exchange platform and a bridge to the world by carrying out various forms of innovative exchange activities between the local cities of China and embassies of different countries, cultural and tourism institutions and business associations in China. At the same time, it promotes to the world in an all-round and three-dimensional way the urban landscape, humanistic landscape, natural scenery and achievements of urban development of Chinese cities, and provides systematic services for the cultural and tourism industry, economic development, and urban publicity of Chinese local cities, so that it can better attract Chinese and foreign businessmen to come to invest in Chinese local cities for development, and attract international friends to visit and travel in China, and then leaps and bounds to improve the influence and popularity of Chinese local cities in the international arena.
