President Xi Jinping Received Credentials from New Foreign Ambassadors in China

On the afternoon of January 30, 2024, President Xi Jinping received the credentials of 42 ambassadors to China at the Great Hall of the People.

Outside the North Gate of the Great Hall of the People, soldiers are lined up on both sides, and buglers are blowing their welcome horns. The ambassadors arrived one after another, passed through the national flag array and walked up the alabaster steps one by one.

In front of the giant mural The Land is so Rich in Beauty, Xi accepted the ambassadors' credentials and posed for a photo with each of them.

After the ceremony of handing over the credentials, President Xi Jinping delivered a group speech to the ambassadors in the Beijing Hall.

President Xi Jinping asked the ambassadors to convey their Lunar New Year blessings and good wishes to the leaders and people of their countries, noting that China treasures its friendship with the peoples of all countries, and is willing to deepen friendship and expand mutually beneficial cooperation with them on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, so as to promote the continuous development of bilateral relations. It is hoped that the ambassadors will gain a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of China, and tighten the ties of cooperation and build bridges of communication for bilateral relations. The Chinese Government will provide convenience and support to the ambassadors in the discharge of their duties.

President Xi emphasized that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, which is comprehensively advancing the construction of a strong nation and the great cause of national rejuvenation with Chinese-style modernization. The starting and ending point of Chinese-style modernization is to enable more than 1.4 billion Chinese people to lead a better life. This means a broader market and unprecedented development opportunities for the world, and will inject a strong impetus into the modernization of all countries in the world.

President Xi pointed out that today's world is not a peaceful place, and that China, as in the past, puts the future of mankind and the well-being of its people at the forefront of its mind, strives to contribute Chinese wisdom and solutions to the cause of peace and development of mankind, advocates equal and orderly multi-polarization in the world and inclusive economic globalization, and promotes the building of a community of shared destiny for mankind, so as to build a better world hand in hand.
