On September 9th, 2021 Russia “Chinese Culture Festival” started. It’s co-organized by China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Russia’s Ministry of Culture. The opening speech were delivered by Hu Heping, China’s minister of culture and tourism, and Russia’s minister of culture.
Hu Heping said in his speech that China and Russia were adjacent to each other and we were also good neighbors, friends and partners. For years, the two countries had been maintaining a mature, stable and solid relationship and carrying out strategic cooperation in all aspects promoted by Chinese president Xi Jinping and Russian president Putin. The two countries achieved fruitful result by holding “culture festival”, “tourism year” and “China-Russia fair”. This was the first year that the two nations held an online “China Culture Festival”. The abundant and novel content offered an unforgettable experience of Chinese culture for plenty of Russian friends. Russia’s minister of culture said in her speech that the friendship and mutual understanding between our people mostly relied on the familiarity and mutual understanding to each others’ culture and history. The culture festival would present east art, contemporary China and Chinese people’s lives, all of which worth expectation.
The Russia “Chinese Culture Festival” included a concert in the opening ceremony, outstanding online dance drama, youth communication and online expert forum, lasting till December. In the online concert, Nanjing Chinese Orchestra and Russia Tchaikovsky National Symphony Orchestra jointly played music including but not limited to “Prosperous China--Fighting against Pandemic”, “China, I Love You” and “Калинка”. The performance would be broadcast by main Chinese and Russia media, including Russian channel of CCTV, culture channel of Rossiya, client for China and Russia headlines.
During the culture festival, there would be youth cultural communication program, online expert forum and outstanding online dance drama. University students from China and Russia as well as drama experts would participate events above. “Confucius”, a classic dance drama of China National Opera & Dance Drama Theater, was performed in the closing ceremony.
Since 2006, China and Russia had been organizing culture festivals in each others’ countries. They were one of the brand cultural activities with the largest scale, most influenced area and most targeted audience. The performances were loved by people form both countries.
