On July 29^th, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism held the summary conference of the performance to celebrate the 100^th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. The aim was to learn the experience of the successful performance named “the great journey” as well as the spirit of Xi Jinping’s important speech relating to the celebration and Wang Huning’s speech in the summary conference of the celebration to mark the 100^th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. Hu Heping, minister and secretary of leading party group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, attended and delivered a speech. Li Qun, director, vice minister, secretary and member of leading party group of the National Cultural Heritage Administration, hosted the conference. Attendees also included Wang Xudong, La Yiyu and Du Jiang, all of whom attended the conference.

    Hu Heping said that under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping as it’s core, the whole country celebrated the 100^th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China with grand ceremony. The great event presented senses of ceremony, participation and modern era and showed Chinese style and appearance. It could unify thoughts, concentrate strength and encourage morale. The large-scale epic performance of “The Great Journey” was an important part of the celebration as well as a precious gift to the party during the anniversary. The successful performance was the result of the centralized leading and the political advantage of the authority of the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping as it’s core; of the strength of Xi Jinping’s socialist thoughts with Chinese characteristics for a new era and of the reputation and the leadership of the general secretary Xi Jinping.

    Hu Heping stressed that the successful performance originated from wisdom and strength of all departments, participators and promoters. “The Great Journey” was a major political task given by the CPC Central Committee. Under the unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee and the specific guidance of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, all performers improved political positioning and the awareness to keep in mind the bigger picture as well as overcame difficulties, including a long time before the event, complex coordination, technological challenges pandemic prevention and a large number of institutes and participators. The above were reasons why the cultural and epic performance for a new era was able to be presented at the 100^th anniversary. “The Great Journey” had a clear topic and story line. It also had integrated effect composed of stage design, performance presentation, prop making and video editing. Audience was amazed by the CPC, socialism and communism. The amazing performance was only possible when the rule of art was grasped; when the innovation and the breakthrough were made and when the party history education was combined.

    Hu Heping said that we needed to learn and implement the spirit of the speech delivered by general secretary Xi Jinping on July 1^st, then summarized the experience of the performance and got the driving force to met the goals to build a country with strong culture and to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation. The government needed to promote and use the experience of performance preparation to use it in major theme performance, celebration and broadcast in the future, so performance achievement could be transformed to driving force for it’s development and prosperity.

    In the conference, 13 designers, performers and stuff members exchanged ideas, reviewed the whole process and summarized the experience. In the conference, those who made prominent contribution to the performance were praised.

    Attendees included heads of bureaus and departments of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism; members of resident discipline inspection and supervision group in the ministry; representatives of creators, performers and supporting team; people in charge of party affairs of art troupe of the ministry; heads of performance team and from relating provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) as well as heads of art troupes and supporting teams.
