International society paid attention to Hainan Free Trade Port. From August 12th to 15th, envoys to China from 37 countries and consular officers in Guangzhou and Shanghai would visit Hainan province and inspect the development of characteristic industries and relating favorable policies of the port construction.
“This has been the first major economic policy promotion and communication event since the establishment of ‘The Overall Construction Plan of Hainan Free Trade Port’ as well as the envoys’ visit of the largest scale and the highest level since Hainan became a province”, said Wang Sheng, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Hainan Province.
Hainan had been continuously promoting the friendly communication and practical cooperation with other countries. In the June 24th of this year, a video conference was held by officials of Hainan’s foreign affairs office and of Lubuskie province. They exchanged ideas on the online friendly communication between the two provinces in the “post-pandemic era” and on the sharing of new opportunities of the construction and development of Hainan free trade port. Since July, Michiel Bierkens, consul general of the Netherlands in Guangzhou, Anja Villefrance, consul general of the Denmark in Guangzhou, and Rebekah Mawson, consul general of the New Zealand in Guangzhou.
Currently, Hainan had 64 international friendly cities in six continents. Hainan had been expanding it’s “international friends circle” to enable the Hainan Free Trade Port to be more open to and integrated with global resources.
