On November 1^st, the 6^th China Poetry Festival was hold in the Chengdu City of Sichuan Province, hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, China Writers Association, Sichuan Province People’s Government and Chongqing Municipal People’s Government. Hu Heping, minister and secretary of the leading party group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, announced the opening of the ceremony and delivered a speech. Other attendees were Yin Li, governor and deputy secretary of CPC committee of Sichuan Province, Jidi Majia, vice chairman, secretary of the secretariat and member of the leading party group of the China Writers Association, Li Qun, vice minister and member of the leading party group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Gan Lin, publicity minister and member of the standing committee of the CPC committee of Sichuan Province, Luo Qiang, vice governor of Sichuan Province, Zheng Xiangdong, deputy mayor of Chongqing Municipality, Wang Fengchao, mayor of Chengdu City, and heads of Cultural Exchange Organization of Presenting China to the World.

    Hu Heping said that the 6^th China Poetry Festival was held in Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality at the same time. It’s a practical measure to carry out CPC Central Committee’s decision and deployment of the dual economic circle of Sichuan and Chongqing as well as to support high-quality development of society and economy fueled by cultural prosperity. The Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee held not long ago saw culture as an important aspect; clarified the aim of culture construction in the “14^th Five Year Plan” and came up with the long-term goal to build a country with a strong culture. With the spirit of important speeches delivered by Xi Jinping relating to work of art and literature, people in relating areas needed to implement CPC Central Committee’s decision and deployment about culture; stuck to people-centered creation; kept up with time to speak for the era, to praise the spirit of the era and to record the great era form the bottom of hearts; created more works to praise the CPC, China, Chinese people and heroes and promote the prosperity of the socialist culture, so as to concentrate cultural power for the rejuvenation of Chinese nation.

    In the evening of the day to held the opening ceremony, there was a performance whose name meant “forge ahead like a gigantic ship breaking through strong winds and heavy waves”. It’s composed of four parts, namely, “the fight against the pandemic”, “poverty alleviation”, “the land of abundance” and “the century”. The performance showed CPC’s course to lead the Chinese civilization toward the second centenary goal so as to realize the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation. The China Poetry Festival was a great celebration of the largest scale of poems and songs, authorized by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council and organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, China Writers Association and provincial governments. The 6^th China Poetry Festival carried out the mission of “a celebration for poems and a festival for people” to build a platform to inherit and develop culture about poems. The festival would end in November 7^th. Before that, multiple activities would be held in Chengdu and Chongqing, including poem forum, poetic creation communication, poem class, poem salon, poem flash mob, recitation accompanied by ethnic orchestral music. Governments in Chongqing and Sichuan also established a series of high-quality tourism routes named “journey of poems” to support the construction of Bashu culture and tourism corridor so as to promote the integrated development of culture and tourism.
