From April 3^rd to 4^th, Li Qun, vice cultural and tourism minister and director of National Cultural Heritage Administration, and his colleagues go on a research tour in Sichuan Province. He visits Sanxingdui Site, Jinsha Site, Chengdu Museum and other cultural exhibition institutes; see front-line stuff members of archaeology and cultural exhibition and hold forums to listen to suggestions. He stresses that he need to implement spirit of important speeches and orders given by the general secretary Xin Jinping. We need to contribute to the construction of a country with strong culture by improving the level of protection and exploitation of cultural relics and pushing forward the innovative transformation and development of outstanding traditional Chinese cultural. In it’s process, we need to adhere to the political stance of inheriting Chinese civilization and rejuvenating Chinese nation.

    Peng Qinghua of Sichuan Province and Huang Qiang, the provincial governor, meet Li Qun and his colleagues. Peng Qinghua and Huang Qiang say that Sichuan Province has abundant resource in cultural relics. It’s protection has developed with the great importance attached to it by the National Cultural Heritage Administration. So we hope the nation will give more guidance and support to enable work relating to cultural relics in Sichuan Province to be lifted to a higher level. Li Qun says that National Cultural Heritage Administration will continue to implement key tasks in our strategic cooperation treatment and give key support to Sichuan Province, including policy, project, financial resource and human resource.

    During the Sanxingdui site archaeological work forum, Li Qun says that the result of Sanxingdui cultural archaeology represents the significant contribution made by the ancient Sichuan civilization (which exists in today’s Sichuan Province between 5000 to 3000 years ago) to Chinese civilization, so the former is an evidence proving the latter’s development history and the fact that the latter is a result of multiple origins. Li Qun stresses that governments should enhance archaeological research; relation work should be scientific, open and international; arrange people from different subjects to solve key issues and conduct international communication, all of which can help to contribute to a archaeology with Chinese characteristics and style. We need to promote integrated development of cultural relics protection and construction of rural and urban areas by enhancing protection and exploitation; improving the system and mechanism to protect cultural relics and see the construction of national cultural protection and exploitation demonstration zone. We need to lead public opinion in the right direction, respond to the care of the society, popularize archaeological knowledge so as to guide public attention to the fact that Chinese civilization has multiple integrated origins, to national consensus and to the enhancement of cultural confidence, so history and culture can play important roles in cultivating people.
