The Ministry of Culture and Tourism Holds a Forum on News Publicity

    On June 17th, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism holds a forum on news propaganda. The forum studies the important spirit of news propaganda; implement the spirit of teleconference on the publicity of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Communist Party of China; explore how to do tourism and news publicity under a new circumstance and plan for the publicity of the celebration of the Culture and Tourism Ministry for the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Communist Party of China. Hu Heping, minister and secretary of the Leading Party Numbers’ Group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, delivers a speech. Rao Quan, vice minister and member of the Leading Party Numbers’ Group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism hosts the forum.

    Hu Heping stresses that news publicity is important for the work of the Communist Party of China and significant for national governance system and the modernization of governance capacity. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the Party Central Committee with Xi Jinping as it’s core has been attaching great importance to news publicity. He has also delivered a series of important speeches, providing fundamental guidance for our work, so we need to learn the spirit of important speeches given by Xi Jinping, the general secretary; to have a through understanding of the importance, principles and missions of news publicity and to know the core principles of the integrated development of media to tell Chinese stories well, to let China’s voice be heard and to show a real, three-dimensional and comprehensive image of China. We need to push forward all tasks of news publicity, to promote Xi Jinping’s thoughts on socialist ideas with Chinese characteristics for a new era, to plan for priorities in the promotion of cultural and tourism fields, to safeguard ideology, to improve the influence of Chinese culture and to deepen the cooperation and communication with media. In addition, we need to enhance the leadership of news publicity, to clarify work responsibilities, to make good use of mechanism platform and to build a strong team.

    Hu Heping points out that there are significance and longtime influence in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. The Central Committee of the party has made an overall plan for the celebration, arranged a series of important tasks and brought out specified requirements. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism should take a high political stance; have a good understanding of the importance and basic demands to celebrate the publicity education of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China; do a good job in promoting the theme that the Communist Party of China is good and promote and illustrate great achievements of the new era. We also need to promote the education of the study on party history, to rehearse large-scale performance, to establish excellent work one after another and to conduct education of promotion to ordinary people.

    Rao Quan points out in his speech that we need to study Xi Jinping’s thoughts on socialist with Chinese characteristic for a new era thoroughly; to implement every task in news publicity and to carry out the promotion of tourism theme and a century’s culture after the founding of the Communist Party of China. They will enhance the management of the information center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism; perfect the communication mechanism of news publicity and improve the effectiveness and influence of news promotion. According to different conditions of different departments, they will share information resources, promote communication and cooperation, enhance coordination with news departments and new media institutes and reach specific achievements of innovated development of cultural and tourism news publicity.

    On the forum, an official from the general office of Ministry of Culture and Tourism introduces the general condition of news publicity. Experience is exchanged and suggestions are given by 8 people from departments, ministries, subordinate units, news departments of central committee and new media institutes. Attendees are also from departments of Ministry of Culture and Tourism, subordinate units, some news departments of central committee and new media institutes.
