Wang Xiaofeng attends the Nepal’s Year of Tourism 2020 campaign

In order to implement the consensus reached by two leaders, Wang Xiaofeng, a member of the Party leadership group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, attended the inauguration ceremony of Nepal’s Year of Tourism on January 1st in Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal, at the invitation of Nepal’s Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. Nearly 30 thousand guests, including Nepal’s President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, chief justice, speaker of the National Congress and vice prime minister, as well as senior tourism officials from Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Jamaica, Myanmar and Qatar, were present. This event is a significant measure taken by Nepal’s government to tell other countries its resolve to develop tourism industries and welcome visitors from all over the world.
Wang Xiaofeng, on behalf the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism, congratulated on the inauguration of the Nepal’s Year of Tourism in his speech. He expressed that China and Nepal are very close neighbors linked by the same mountains and rivers. Since China and Nepal established diplomatic relations in 1955, the two countries have set an example of equality, friendship, and mutually beneficial cooperation between neighboring countries. In October last year, President Xi Jinping upgraded the relations of two countries to a strategic partnership of cooperation featuring ever-lasting friendship for development and prosperity during his state visit to Nepal, making it an important milestone in the history. Moreover, he expected to see more Nepal’s tourism promotions held in China, and encouraged Nepalese visitors to explore a marvellous China. 
On the morning of January 1st, Wang Xiaofeng also attended the ministerial tourism forum, during which he shared China’s experience and endeavor to promote the sustainable development of tourism through protecting the nature and cultural heritages. Attendees included Prime Minister of Nepal Khadga Prasad Sharma, Nepal’s foreign minister and minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, as well as other ministers from Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Jamaica, Myanmar and Qatar. 
In the morning of January 2nd, Wang Xiaofeng visited Prime Minister of Nepal Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli with his delegation upon invitation.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi also attended the above-mentioned events.
