China Cultural Center in Tokyo celebrates its tenth anniversary of inauguration

On December 10th, a commemorative exhibition of China Cultural Center in Tokyo kicked off in Tokyo, unveiling the celebrations for the tenth anniversary of its inauguration. Luo Shugang, Chinese minister of Culture and Tourism, Kong Xuanyou, Chinese ambassador to Japan and Fukuda Yasuo, former Japanese Prime Minister, wrote congratulatory messages for the exhibition respectively. 
In his congratulatory message, Luo Shugang appreciated the efforts that the China Cultural Center has made over the past ten years. Meanwhile he made new requirements on its future work and services. It is hoped to see new progress afterwards. Kong Xuanyou expressed in his congratulatory message that amity between the people holds the key to sound state-to-state relations. While cultural exchange has registered a significant link to enhance mutual understanding and amity between two peoples. He hoped that the China Cultural Center could actively open new ground for the friendship between China and Japan. Fukuda Yasuo said in his message that cultural exchange has played an important role in the history of friendly exchanges, which will yield fruitful results only with intensive care in that diverse cultural exchanges demand mutual recognition, mutual respect and mutual understanding.  
Over the past ten years, there have been more than 1500 events held in China Cultural Center in Tokyo with nearly one million people involved in various cultural events. These cultural events have made great contribution for two countries to conduct cultural exchanges and cooperation, and to enhance the friendship between two peoples. 
The exhibition will run through December 14th. The organizer reviewed previous lectures, forums, performances, exhibitions and promotions through the leaflets of cultural events covering calligraphy, painting, martial of arts (Wushu), tea ceremony, Chinese medicine, music, dance and film. Besides, an exhibition zone of ministry-province cooperation was set up to display and promote special items from such provinces as Hainan, Hebei, Chongqing, Zhejiang, Jiangxi and Tianjin who jointly hosted the Chinese Cultural Years with China Cultural Center in Tokyo. During the celebrations, the China Cultural Center will also hold other colourful activities like commemorative party, VR experience of culture and tourism, traditional Mongolian embroidery classes and film screenings.
More than 100 guests, including Guo Yan, minister of Chinese Embassy in Japan, Takeo Kawamura, head of Japan-China Friendly Association for the Promotion of Cultural Exchanges, were present at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
