On October 10th, a delegation comprising more than 30 envoys to China of the 10 ASEAN countries, including Myanmarese Ambassador to China Myo Thant Pe and diplomatic representatives in China from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Philippe, Vietnam and Singapore, stepped into Meishan City in Sichuan. They visited China-France Agricultural Science and Technology Park located in Tianfu New Area, and conducted field research on international cooperation and creative development of culture and tourism.
The delegation first visited the Planning Exhibition Hall of China-France Agricultural Science and Technology Park to have an understanding of its plan for future development. Meanwhile, they were also informed about its location, industrial plan, and construction of supporting facilities. Later, they viewed the demonstration zone composed of commercial blocks of the Left Bank Garden, Monet Garden and White Church.
“What international elements are adopted in the project?”; “What is the future plan?”; “What is the total amount of investment?”.... Ambassador Myo Thant Pe and other diplomats to China communicated frequently with staff. In the day, they also walked into French-style zones, including CHAMP Snack room, Fleur Sweet store and La cave à vin inn, to sample the practice of the integrated development between the primary, secondary and tertiary industries based on international cooperation.
The park was listed into the memorandum of cooperation between local governments in 2015. It was also inscribed as one of 100 major projects of Sichuan province in 2018, covering an area of 18 square kilometers with a package of investment projects worth 30 billion yuan. The Park is built by Overseas Chinese Town Holdings Company (a China’s centrally-administered state-owned enterprise) and OBEO Group (a notable French company for agriculture and health care) as the demonstration zone of China-France interactions and cooperation, new type of urbanization, special town and rural revitalization.
