On September 10th, the “Beautiful China and Colourful Uzbekistan” culture and tourism week kicked off in Tashkent, capital city of Uzbekistan.
Jiang Yan, Chinese ambassador to Uzbekistan, said that China and Uzbekistan have witnessed rapid development in comprehensive strategic partnership with fruitful results in various fields. This cultural and tourism event, which was co-hosted by tourism departments of two countries, aims to implement consensus reached by two leaders, build new highlight of tourism cooperation and promote China-Uzbekistan people-to-people and cultural cooperation.
Akulov, director of Uzbekistan National Tourism Development Commission, said that the number of inbound tourists to Uzbekistan amounted to more than 3 million in the first half of 2019, an increase of 31% compared to the last year. It is hoped that the event could serve as a platform for exchanges and mutual learning to deepen the tourism cooperation between the two sides.
According to the host, the events held in Toshkent will include photo exhibition of Chinese culture, Chinese costume exhibition, Chinese Shu embroidery exhibition, lecture of the establishment of 5A-level scenic spot and China-Uzbekistan seminar of tourism enterprises. While the “Chinese Silk Road Culture” light show and the tourism exhibition of medical and health will be held in Samarqand.
The “Beautiful China and Colourful Uzbekistan” cultural and tourism week was held by Chinese Embassy to Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan National Tourism Development Commission, and organized by Chinese Tourism Office in Astana. The event will run through September 20th.
