On January 16th, the global launch ceremony was held in Beijing for the cultural program Happy Chinese New Year. Luo Shugang, minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, announced its opening. Vice Minister Zhang Xu, partners of Happy Chinese New Year programs and representatives from media also attended the launch ceremony.
According to the introduction, under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for New Era, cultural program Happy Chinese New Year will be led by the socialist core values and take institutional reform as a good opportunity with the improvement of quality and effects, and the integrated development of culture and tourism as priority. Various events will be held to demonstrate the spiritual marks in Spring Festival Culture, tell Chinese stories well and enhance knowledge and understanding of international communities about China, thus fostering a strong atmosphere of celebrating 70th anniversary of New China.
More than 1,500 cultural programs will take place in 396 cities in 133 countries and regions during the upcoming Spring Festival. More than 30 types of cultural events-including exhibitions, art performances, parades, New Year's fairs, forums and folk art classes–will be unveiled to the general public. One of the highlights during this year's program will be an excellent combination of Chinese cultural and tourism resources. Many cultural experiences and tourism promotions peacefully co-exists with one another through the platform of Happy Chinese New Year. They also inject new vitality to international Spring Festival shared by the world.
