On February 13th, Zhang Xu, vice minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism met with Archil Kalandia, newly appointed Georgian ambassador to China. They exchanged views on further reinforcing exchanges and cooperation between two sides in culture and tourism.
Zhang Xu spoke positively of the current conditions of China-Georgia cultural and tourism cooperation, saying that effective cooperation was conducted under the framework of China-Georgia Protocol in Cultural Cooperation, which exerts positive influence on bilateral relations. We will invite Georgia’s excellent artists and groups to attend the activities held under the framework of Dialogue of Asian Civilizations in Beijing, and encourage Georgia’s young sinologists to engage in Visiting Program for Young Sinologists. Currently, China, the largest market of outbound trips in the world, wishes to join hands with Georgia to push ahead with the tourism cooperation and share its benefits.
“Like China, Georgia boasts a long history and is rich in tourism resources. We are willing to strengthen cooperation with China to further enhance exchanges in cultural and tourism.” said Archil Kalandia.
