On May 7th, Minister of Chinese Culture and Tourism Luo Shugang met with Minister José Gonçalves of Cape Verde Tourism and Transportation, as well as Ministry of Ocean Economy, in Beijing. They exchanged views on further strengthening tourism exchanges between China and Cape Verde with multiple consensus reached.
As a major tourism country, Luo expressed, China features large territory, diverse cultures and splendid tourism resources. Though with a long distance, both sides boast rich resources and there is great potential for tourism cooperation since they are highly complementary to each other. He stressed that he is willing to work jointly with Cape Verde to expand its tourism promotion in China. Meanwhile, he welcome Cape Verde to engage in China International Travel Mart and China International Import Expo. Besides, China is willing to provide Cape Verde with necessary training in tourism, and will organize Chinese tourism enterprises to develop tourism routes and products in Cape Verde.
Gonçalves fully agreed upon this, saying that Cape Verde is looking forward to more visits of Chinese tourists to Cape Verde as tourism is pillar industry of Cape Verde. At the same time, he expressed that he hopes to work jointly with Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism to facilitate more Chinese visitors by virtue of vigorously promoting tourism resources and industry of Cape Verde in China, enriching tourism products and optimizing travel routes.
