On May 20th, the Conversation between China and Italy on Culture and Tourism-“Beautiful China” Tourism Promotion was held at Da Vinci Science and Technology Museum in Milan, Italy so as to further promote cultural and tourism cooperation between two countries.
During the promotion, the exchanges were conducted on a variety of topics including Milan’s experience in cultural and tourism development and 40-year development and changes of Chinese tourism market. More than 200 guests from tourism area of China and Italy were present.
Before the event, the opening ceremony of China Tourism and Cultural Week and China Tourism Day celebrations held by the Bureau for International Exchanges and Cooperation took place at the square of Arch of Peace in Milan on May 19th.
Themed “Beautiful China”, the promotional event introduced the slogan of China Tourism Day-“Love Tourism, Love Life” to the public and tourists when promoting Chinese tourism resources. Besides, the colorful cultural activities, including tourism campaign, photo exhibition of Chinese culture and tourism, dragon dance and lion dance, Taichi, China ethnic songs and dances, Beijing opera, instrument performances, have attracted thousands of citizens.
“At the extreme of the ancient Silk Road, China and Italy boast a long history of friendly exchanges between two peoples though a long distance.” said Feng Litao, head of the promotional delegation of Chinese culture and tourism. China and Italy, as two ancient civilizations, is rich in cultural and tourism resources which have laid a solid foundation for two countries to develop cultural and tourism cooperation. Ever since the beginning of this year, the frequent mutual visits between two leaders have brought historical opportunities for further expanding exchanges and cooperation in all areas including culture and tourism. Meanwhile, China and Italy will run the the “Year of Culture and Tourism” in each other’s country in 2020, thus injecting new strong impetus to exchanges and cooperation in culture and tourism.
The China Tourism and Cultural Week, as an important campaign for publicity and promotion of Chinese culture in the world, is an important window for foreigners to know more about Chinese culture. This event will last until May 26th in Milan and the relevant activities will be introduced to Tivoli and Sicily as well.
