Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism Met with Iranian Ambassador in China

On October 16, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism Lu Yingchuan met with Iranian Ambassador Bakhtiar in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on deepening cultural exchanges and cooperation between Iran and China.

Lu Yingchuan said that China and Iran are both ancient civilizations, and the two peoples have a long history of interaction. China-Iran cultural and tourism cooperation is an important part of humanistic exchanges and practical cooperation between the two countries, and has made positive contributions to the development of China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership. China is willing to work with Iran to implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, practice the global civilization initiative, continue to deepen civilization exchanges and mutual understanding, strengthen the top-level design, expand people-to-people exchanges between the two sides, strengthen the cultivation of young talents, and actively carry out cooperation on cultural heritage, so as to jointly promote the level of China-Iran humanities cooperation to a new level.

Bakhtiar said that both Iran-China countries have a long history and splendid civilization. In February this year, during President Leahy's visit to China, Iran and China issued a joint statement, which pointed out the direction for the development of Iran-China comprehensive strategic partnership. The Iranian side is willing to work with the Chinese side to further expand cooperation in the field of culture and tourism between the two sides, close humanistic exchanges between the two countries, enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples, and build a solid humanistic foundation for deepening friendly relations between Iran and China.
