In April, the peony flower is fully bloomed over other flowers in Luoyang. As the poetry goes: “Only the peony is really a national beauty with its bloom shocking the capital.” the annual Peony Culture Festival of Luoyang China kicked off in Luoyang on April 10th with lots of visitors from home and abroad being attracted to appreciate the dazzling peonies. 

The peony flowers come to their boom of blossom in China National Flower Park where the fresh flowers are densely scattered and give off pleasant and delicate fragrance. On April 14th, the park was visited by many international tourists including governmental officials, scholars and experts who came to attend the second China-CEEC Cultural Heritage Forum. They paid a special visit to the China National Flower Park to enjoy the beauty of peony flowers after two-day professional exchanges and dialogues.
 China National Flower Park, located at the relic city of the Sui and Tang Dynasties in the north bank of Luo River, earned the fame as the most beautiful park of national flowers in China. It gives full play to peony’s beauty, elegance and tranquility based on the history and culture in Sui and Tang Dynasties. Meanwhile, the park features an integration of history, peony culture and garden landscapes, with peony culture as its major part.  Besides, it is filled with over 500,000 peonies of 1,000 different species, which include nine colors, such as red, white, pink, yellow, purple, blue, green, black as well as tertiary colors.
“The peony flowers are unique and beautiful.” according to Ivan Kolev, saying various peony flowers were seen in the downtown when arriving in Luoyang, She was very happy to be here to see more peonies today as it was also the first time for her to come to such a beautiful city.
“I love flowers very much. It’s truly amazing when getting the first glimpse of Luoyang peonies with big flowers and various colors, among which the purple peony flowers are my favorite.” said Yelena from Slovak when enjoying peony flowers in National Flower Park of China. 
 Luoyang, as an ancient capital spanning 13 dynasties, is granted with a title of “Time-honored Imperial Capital, a City of Peonies”. It’s peonies, with a long growing history of more than 1,500 years, can be dated back to Sui dynasty, then they thrived in Tang dynasty, and were renowned in Song dynasty. Till now, there are ten types of peony flower of more than 1,200 different species, which covets an area of 210,000 mu (14,000 hectares). Every year in their blossom, the city of Luoyang is crowded with visitors who are immersed in the peony seas.
